Is it me or are the municipalities using an extra heavy dose of road salt this winter? Even with no snow, the roads are completely white with road salt or brine. Please keep your pup safe from salt poisoning this winter. Salt toxicity is a real concern for your pup. Some signs to look for are dehydration, drinking more water, swollen tongue, fever, fast heart beat, vomiting, diarrhea and in some sever cases kidney failure, brain damage and even death.
A few easy ways to help combat this issue is to keep your pup well hydrated in these winter months and to wipe your pups paws off when you get in from those walks outside.
